Sterling Account

The Economics of Energy

Methodology

In providing timely and useful information to the client, the Sterling Account conducts intensive due diligence based on information from multiple sources including:

  • Reports from financial publications, investment banks, university papers, government source material, and the internet.
  • Lengthy discussions with energy executives, energy analysts in the US and other countries, joint venture partners, suppliers, service companies, and third parties conducting due diligence on segments of the energy sector or subject companies.
  • On-site due diligence consisting of inspection of operating fields, LAC units, refineries, pipeline systems, alternative energy operations, examining contracts of all kinds, talking to field & other operating personnel, accountants, reading full length reserve and other evaluation type reports and talking to engineering consulting companies that have written reports on subject company assets & reserves. (On-site inspections can take anywhere from several days to several weeks.)

The Sterling Account is written exclusively for institutional investors including traders, fund and portfolio managers, executives of entities planning acquisitions, takeovers, turnarounds, workouts, and LBOs of an energy related company.

The goal is to provide the necessary information for short-term and long-term financings and investments and trades to enable the client to make the best benefit to cost and risk decisions.

Distribution is limited insuring that the trade ideas are relevant and useful.
